This debut release is as unusual as it is intriguing. It has a ring of purity around it, taking you out of your daily routine whilst inspiring a kind of divine mystery beyond practising earthly religion. Carefully crafted and expertly recorded, including in wide surround, and for those who like it, also available in 4K Video Download, this debut recording has the ethereal power mankind needs in modern testing times.

This is a captivating album of hauntingly ethereal, mystical music. […] Whether one wishes to engage in the philosophical musings underlying the texts of these chants and songs, the music is pure medieval wonderfulness. Performed on voice and a host of instruments of the medieval period (Gothic harp, vielle, cittern, rebec, medieval lute, hurdy-gurdy, and percussion), the album is an aural delight constantly titillating ones aural senses.
Rushton Paul, Positive Feedback
[Kristia] Michael is a vocal artist who navigates between piety and the raw Mediterranean. Subtle are the guttural arabesques with which she adorns the music. The instrumentalists also draw from a rich arsenal, from lute and viola to harp and hurdy-gurdy. An improvisation with percussion and throat singing leaves the Enkhuizen Westerkerk trembling.

Thanks to the exquisite qualities of the Sibil•la Ensemble, we can enjoy this music in its purest form, with the gorgeously fine recording crowning this sublime musicianship. A debut album that clearly tastes like more.
Aart van der Wal, Opus Klassiek
The result is pure music that has been arranged and performed with the utmost care. Tranquil and contemplative music, with a strong link to serenity.
Here the reproduction was almost palpable. What a treat to hear and see these young musicians. With such dedication and intensity, but at the same time with a playful ease. Wow.

Viriditas is an audiovisual album by Sibil•la Ensemble and the audiophile immersive music label TRPTK. The mystical concept of Viriditas originates from the writings of the mystic and composer Hildegard von Bingen (1098-1179), and symbolizes the life-giving energy that permeates the natural world. The music video presents music from Western pagan and medieval rituals and explores connections through diverse traditions, highlighting the significance of nature in human thought throughout centuries.
Chants and secular songs from the 12th and 13th centuries celebrate the power of nature, combining ancient customs from Germany, Spain, France, and Cyprus. Unique of its kind, it envisions an immersive cinematic experience of medieval music, filmed in the 15th-century Westerkerk in the Dutch city of Enkhuizen.
Special thanks to Brendon Heinst and Maya Fridman for producing this album, and to Jonas Sacks for directing the video recording. Also, a big thank you to the wonderful people of the Westerkerk Enkhuizen for providing this beautiful church!
